Who are the “Breeks”?
Breeks (Greek + bricks) is a Greek community of adult fans of LEGO® bricks (AFOLs). They are a group of original LEGO® builders, aged 18 and over, who promote creativity through LEGO® products.
"Breeks” club is a non-profit organization, oriented towards entertainment and education with the products of the TLG (The LEGO® Group), without being related to it in any way, beyond the use of its products.


Is the "Breeks" Club financially or directly related to The LEGO® Group?
No! Breeks is an independent, non-profit group whose members are involved with LEGO® products.
However, LEGO® has officially recognized our Club as a Recognized LEGO® User Group.


What is the purpose of Breeks LUG?
The purpose of the Breeks group, is to build their own LEGO® bricks model creations, so that through the group’s activities they can:
• Collaborate with each other to create complex constructions.
• Exchange opinions and be informed about developments in the LEGO® market.
• Improve through polite competition and cooperation with other members.
• Promote the art of MOC (My Own Creation) creation to the public and recruit new members who share the same passion as us.
• Disseminate LEGO® building techniques to the public.


What are the requirements to become a member of Breeks?
To become a member of Breeks, one must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, have a creative passion for LEGO® and be a resident of Greece.


How can one become a member of Breeks?
Registration for Breeks is done through the Club's website, by completing the relevant registration form (Greek residents only).


Is there a subscription fee?
Each member, pays a symbolic amount as an annual subscription, which corresponds to the fixed expenses of the group (website maintenance, exhibition expenses, etc.).


Are there membership categories?
Members are divided into three (3) categories or tiers, based on their status and participation in the Club's activities. A special point system is used for categorization. The category change occurs every January, depending on the points they have collected in the previous calendar year (01 Jan to 31 Dec).
All new active members start at tier 2.

 

What are the membership categories?

Tier 3: Registered on the site
They are any internet user who can freely and free of charge create an account on the club's website (  www.breeks.gr  ). By creating this account, they can take part in public discussions and be informed about the Club's actions. Registered members cannot actively participate in Breeks events, except as guests or guest friends, upon their request through the public discussions.
Tier 2: Active members
Active members of the Club are considered to be those regular members who actively participate in the activities of the Club and contribute to its proper functioning. They have full rights to participate in all activities of the Club.
Tier 1: Maker Members (MOCs - MODs - Photography)
This category includes regular members who build creations with LEGO® bricks and promote them through events, exhibitions or the Club's website.

 

Member Behavior - Rules of Conduct:

  • Courtesy and Respect : Members must behave with courtesy, avoiding actions that may offend others.
  • Personal Responsibility : Each member is responsible for his own behavior, as well as the behavior of his guests within the club premises.
  • Participation and Contribution : Active participation and contribution to the media through posts or comments is encouraged, always respecting the club's rules.
  • Compliance with the rules : All members must comply with the rules that regulate the operation of the Club, their obligations and rights.

In the event that the above is not complied with, members will be reprimanded or expelled from the Club, depending on the severity of the offense.


Community's Leadership Structure:
The community is managed by a three-member team of members, whose duties include:

  • The organization of activities.
  • Communication with organizations and companies.
  • Management of social media and the Club's website.
  • The management of the Club's invontory.

The three-member group board of directors) makes all decisions regarding the community, the activities it participates in, etc. Depending on the seriousness of the issue, the decision is made either by the board of directors alone, or after a vote of all active members. Every decision made is announced to all members of the community.

One of the three members is designated as an ambassador , who represents the Club in all communications with The LEGO® Group. The ambassador's main duty is to inform members about what is happening in the LEGO Ambassador Network (LAN), as well as to convey members' concerns - questions - suggestions to it. 

The three-member committee and the ambassador have a four-year term and are elected after elections with the participation of all active members of the Club. In the event that there are no new candidate members in the elections, the old members continue their term, after the consent of all members.
